The Federal Government has opened Phase 2 of the FME TVET 2026 registration, offering Nigerian youths access to free technical and vocational training aimed at boosting employment and entrepreneurship.

The programme, under the Federal Ministry of Education’s Technical and Vocational Education and Training initiative, is designed to equip participants with practical, job-ready skills while providing financial support during training.

According to details released in the official guide, successful applicants will receive free tuition, monthly stipends ranging from ₦22,500 to ₦45,000, and recognised certification upon completion. Participants will also gain access to business loans, startup grants, and hands-on industry experience.

    Who can apply

Applicants must be Nigerian citizens with valid National Identification Number and Bank Verification Number. A minimum of First School Leaving Certificate is required, and the programme is open to both educated and non-educated individuals aged between 18 and 35.

    Available skills

Training spans multiple sectors including technical and engineering trades such as electrical installation, welding, plumbing and solar panel installation. ICT and digital skills like computer hardware repair, social media communication and creative media production are also offered.

    • APPLY: 15,000 Nigerians to get free TVET Skills by December 2022

Other areas include construction, automotive repairs, agriculture, and creative services such as fashion design, cosmetology and hospitality training.

    How to apply

Interested candidates are required to visit the official TVET portal, create an account, complete the application form, and select a preferred training centre. Applications are to be submitted online, after which shortlisted candidates will be contacted via SMS or email.

Officials advised applicants to ensure accurate information, apply early, and avoid multiple submissions to prevent disqualification.

The government says the initiative is part of broader efforts to tackle unemployment, promote self-reliance, and support economic growth through skills development.
