The Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) has directed passengers and airport users to pick up their GoCashless cards at airports ahead of a new cashless policy set to take effect nationwide.
In a terse message received by Chronicle NG, FAAN announced that cash payments will no longer be accepted at its airport revenue points from 1 March 2026.
The authority urged travellers and other airport users to register on its official GoCashless portal and collect their cards at designated FAAN airports.
The move signals a full transition to electronic payment channels across FAAN-managed facilities, as the agency seeks to streamline revenue collection, enhance transparency and improve operational efficiency.
Passengers are advised to complete their registration before arriving at the airport to avoid delays or disruptions when making payments for services.
The agency said the GoCashless card will now be required for all payments at its revenue points once the policy comes into force on Saturday.
The development signals a full transition to electronic payments in line with broader public sector reforms designed to enhance transparency and efficiency in revenue collection.
