A footage has emerged showing American rapper, producer, and business mogul Sean Diddy Combs physically assaulting his ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura in 2016.
The video was captured from multiple camera angles dated March 5, 2016, and reveals Diddy Combs grabbing, shoving, kicking, and dragging Ventura during an altercation. According to Ventura’s complaint, the incident occurred at the now-closed Intercontinental Hotel in Century City, Los Angeles.
In the video, Ventura was seen exiting the hotel room towards the elevator when Combs ran after her with a towel tied around his waist. He grabbed her by the neck and threw her to the floor, then turned to kick her while holding his towel by one hand, as the video has shown.
Diddy was also seen retrieving a purse and a suitcase from the floor and then turned around to kick Ventura, who was now motionless twice. He dragged her by her sweatshirt towards a room before walking away.
According to the video, Ventura stood up slowly to gather items and a phone from the floor. A mirror directly across the camera shows Combs appearing again to shove Ventura. He sat on a chair for a while before throwing an object he grabbed from the table towards Ventura, then he walked away through the elevator doors.
Ventura, who had previously reached an undisclosed agreement with Combs, declined to comment on the video, according to information from CNN.
However, her attorney, Douglas H. Wigdor, has said that the video has confirmed Combs’ predatory behaviour and that Ventura was courageous to have brought it to light.
Combs and Ventura allegedly had an inconsistent relationship from 2007 to 2008 and were known for songs like “Me&U” until Ventura filed a complaint against him in March 2016.
Combs’ record label signed Ventura, who claimed that he abused her sexually and used his power and influence over her.
Diddy denied all accusations while both resorted to a mutual settlement in 2023, as confirmed by his attorney, Ben Brafman.
Since November, Combs has faced five other civil lawsuits accusing him of a range of sexual misconduct and other illegal activities. He has denied the allegations, and the cases remain active, CNN reported.
