Prominent Lagos socialite Emeka Okonkwo (a.k.a. E-Money) reportedly regained his release on Tuesday evening after hours of questioning by agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

He discovered e-money at his home in the Omole area of Lagos on Monday night and transferred it to the commission’s office in Abuja for investigation.

He was arrested by operatives for allegedly abusing the naira and defacing foreign currencies.

However, the celebrity took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to celebrate his release, using the handle @iam_emoney1.

Appearing as a king in his palace in the place, E-money wrote, “No tension, everywhere good, I see all your love and support. God bless you all.”

The song “Thank you for saving me, thank you, my Lord” was played in the background of the video.

EFCC spokesperson Dele Oyewale did not respond to requests for confirmation of E-Money’s release.

Fellow socialite Pascal Okechukwu, also known as Cubana Chief Priest, celebrated the release of E-Money on his Instagram handle, Cubana Chief Priest, writing, “My brother don fall out. To God be the glory.”

The businessman was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly spraying the United States.

An EFCC source had said, “On Monday night, we arrested E-Money for naira abuse and defacing foreign currencies. Specifically, he was alleged to have sprayed U.S. dollars, which is against the Foreign Exchange Act.

“He was arrested at his Omole, Lagos, residence. Preliminary investigations are ongoing, and he will be charged in court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
