Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) has launched a whistleblower initiative offering a N500,000 cash reward to anyone who provides credible information leading to the arrest of individuals involved in the illegal use of its branded trucks.

The company said the initiative is designed to curb unauthorised haulage activities, safeguard its nationwide logistics network and protect the integrity of its operations.

In a statement issued on Sunday, Dangote urged members of the public to report any suspected cases of its trucks being used to transport unauthorised goods or passengers.

According to the company, trucks belonging to its subsidiaries are permitted to carry only approved products. Dangote Cement trucks are authorised to transport cement, limestone, high-grade gypsum, coal and clinker, while Dangote Sugar Refinery trucks are restricted to sugar products.

The company added that NASCON Allied Industries vehicles are designated for Dangote Salt and DanQ Seasoning products. Dangote Packaging trucks are approved to transport bags and packaging materials, Dangote Petroleum Refinery and Petrochemicals trucks are limited to polypropylene products, while Dangote Fertiliser Limited vehicles are authorised to convey urea fertiliser.

Dangote warned that any of its trucks found carrying unauthorised goods would be treated as engaging in illegal haulage.

It stated that drivers and owners of such goods risk arrest, confiscation of the cargo and prosecution by law enforcement agencies.

The company said anyone with verifiable information leading to the arrest of offenders or the recovery of unauthorised goods transported on Dangote trucks would receive a N500,000 reward.

To support investigations, whistleblowers are encouraged to provide details including the truck type, registration plate number, cab number, location, description of the goods, vehicle colour and photographs where possible.

Dangote also disclosed that dedicated hotlines have been established across its operations to receive reports of illegal haulage activities, while security agencies, including the police, have been authorised to arrest drivers using its trucks for unauthorised commercial haulage.

Reaffirming its zero-tolerance stance against logistics-related fraud, the company said the whistleblower programme is intended to strengthen transparency, accountability and compliance across its logistics network.

It added that public cooperation is vital to eliminating illegal haulage, protecting company assets and ensuring offenders are brought to justice.
