Justice Ahmed Mohamed of the Federal High Court in Abuja has discharged and acquitted a former Group Managing Director of the Nigeria National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Andrew Yakubu, on charges of money laundering.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, seized the sum of $9,772,800 and £74000 from the former Group Managing Director of NNPC
The EFCC alleged that the defendant received huge sums of money without going through a financial institution.
