The Confédération Africaine de Football (CAF) and its technical partner PUMA have revealed a special edition of the official match ball, ITRI, for the CAF TotalEnergies 2025 Africa Cup of Nations final on Sunday.
Morocco, the host nation, will compete against Senegal in the final at Stade Prince Moulay Abdellah (kick-off 20:00 local time / 19:00 GMT), where a new champion of Africa will be determined.
A post retrieved from CAF’s website on Friday states that the finalists will utilize a special version of the official match ball, with gold highlights as an homage to both teams.
“The ITRI ball, which has been used throughout the tournament, features a striking design inspired by traditional Moroccan zellij geometric patterns, including central star geometry, floral petal outlines, and circular symmetry.
“Built on PUMA’s advanced Orbita 6 technology, the ball combines heritage with innovation, meeting the performance standards required for elite-level competition while celebrating African culture,” the post read.
The 2025 AFCON finals will feature host Morocco locking horns against Sadio Mane’s Senegal.
Morocco secured a spot in the finals after defeating the Super Eagles of Nigeria on penalties, while Senegal defeated the Pharaohs of Egypt.
