President Muhammadu Buhari has dismissed rumours on social media claiming that he invited supermodel Naomi Campbell to inspect the Eko Atlantic City in Lagos.

Buhari who was in Lagos on a two-day working visit was pictured along with Ms Campbell, former Lagos governor, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu and incumbent governor, Akinwunmi Ambode.

To clarify the situation, personal assistant to President Buhari on New Media, Bashir Ahmad tweeted. “For the sake of clarity, President @MBuhari didn’t invite Ms. Naomi Campbell to any event during his 2-day visit to Lagos State.

Ms Campbell’s tweet echoed that of Ahmad. She said she was in Nigeria for Arise Fashion Week and not on the invitation of the President. “Was a pleasure to meet His Excellency The President of The Federal Republic of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari to the launch of Eko Atlantic. HERE FOR ARISE FASHION WEEK.”
