The chairman and founder of BUA Group, Abdul Samad Rabiu, has promised financial rewards to Nigeria’s Super Eagles following their 2-0 victory over Algeria in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations quarter-finals.

In a statement posted on Saturday via his X handle, Rabiu congratulated the team and outlined a series of performance-based incentives for the remaining matches.

“Congratulations to our Super Eagles players on a brilliant victory against Algeria! You have lifted the spirit of the nation, and we proudly cheer you on as you prepare for the semi-finals,” Rabiu said.

He promised $500,000 to the players upon winning the semi-final, with an additional $50,000 for every goal scored in that match.

“Should you go on to win the final, I further pledge $1,000,000, plus $100,000 for each goal scored in the final,” he added.

Rabiu ended his message by urging the players to continue making Nigerians proud, saying, “Wishing you continued success as you carry Nigeria forward. Keep making Nigeria proud. Proudly Nigerian.”

Nigeria advanced into the semi-final after a convincing 2-0 win against Algeria at the Stade de Marrakech on Saturday, with goals from Victor Osimhen and Akor Adams.

The Super Eagles will now face host Morocco in the semi-finals on Wednesday, January 14, at 9 p.m. at the Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Nigeria’s perfect tournament record was extended to five wins from five matches, with the squad scoring 14 goals and becoming the first team in AFCON history to win their first five matches in a single edition.

Nigeria has won the Africa Cup of Nations three times before, in 1980, 1994, and 2013, and they are hoping for a fourth trophy. With good performances so far in the competition, many Nigerians believe the squad has the talent and resolve to win it all.
