Armed Boko Haram terrorists disguised in military uniforms assaulted Gatamarwa and Tsiha near Shikarkir towns in Borno State’s Chibok local government area, murdering 11 people and kidnapping one lady (name withheld).

The Boko Haram terrorists also took away food and cattle without a fight. On Tuesday, our correspondent was notified by reliable sources of fleeing people.

This new attack came just two weeks after rebels invaded Chibok, killing two people and looting houses before torching them.

Similarly, during the climax of the Yelutide, suspected terrorists bombed down some 33 KVA lines and towers connecting Yobe and Borno states to the national grid between the Auno-Maiduguri and Gujba axes.

Suspected Boko Haram terrorists invaded the Gatamarwa village on Monday around 5 p.m., during the celebration of January 1, 2024.

Mallam Wakil Aliyu, a community member who spoke with our correspondent, described the attackers as “heavily armed with AK47 rifles and a mix of vehicles and motorcycles, who first opened fire on some people who were returning from mourning in Gatamarwa, before later attacking another Tsiha community near Shikarkir and killing three people with the abduction of a young lady.”

Another community source said, “They came in large numbers, with sophisticated weapons, burning houses, and carting away foodstuffs.

‘I cannot tell you the exact number of people they have killed, but I can confirm to you that many people were reportedly killed.”

At the time of filing this report, all efforts to get confirmation from the Police Public Relations Officer, Borno Command, ASP Nahum Daso Kenneth, proved abortive.
