Nigerian Grammy award winner Burna Boy won the “Best International Act” award at the 2023 BET Awards held on Sunday night in Los Angeles, United States of America.
The ‘Last Last’ crooner clinched the award after defeating French singer Aya Nakamura, British superstars Ella Mai, Stormzy, and Central Cee, and Nigerian diva, Ayra Starr.
This win makes it a fourth for Burna Boy, who has won the award for three consecutive years (2019, 2020, and 2021).
Nigerians have exclusively won the BET Awards’ “Best International Art” category since the creation of the category in 2018, with Davido being the maiden winner.
Meanwhile, Nigerian singer Asake lost the “Best New International” award last night to Cameroonian diva Libianca.
