Bandits in Zamfara State have released four women who were kidnapped six months ago.

It will be recalled that the bandits kidnapped the four women six months ago and threatened to marry them off for a ransom of N12 million?

Speaking to newsmen, the mother of one of the abductees stated that the girls were released by bandits and are now receiving medical treatment in the hands of security personnel.

She further stated that the victims had not yet been reunited with their relatives.

She said, “The security agents called me and told me that my daughter has been rescued from the bandits and is under their care.

“I even spoke with my daughter on the phone, who confirmed to me that they are being treated in a hospital”.

Furthermore, Zagalola Makama, a counter-terrorism expert, stated on Twitter that four women had been released.

Makama also stated that they were in the hospital for medical examinations.

He said, “These abducted women have reportedly regained their freedom from armed bandits in Zamfara.”

At the time of filing this report, attempts to reach the state police command’s spokesperson, SP Yazid Abubakar, for comment were futile because he could not be reached on the phone.
