    Emiliano Martinez of Argentina has won the 2023 Yashin Trophy at the Ballon d’Or ceremony held at the Theatre du Chatelet in Paris, France.

    The Yashin Trophy is an annual association football honour awarded by France Football to the best-performing goalkeeper.

    Martinez was a key member of the South American champions that overcame France in the World Cup final last year in Qatar.

    Since its inception in 2019, the award has been named after former Soviet Union goalkeeper Lev Yashin, and the winner has been chosen by previous Ballon d’Or winners.
