Nigerian comedian and Nollywood actor Lawrence Atelile, popularly called Seyi Law, has been involved in banter with a Labour Party supporter who labelled him “Baba Suwe that stopped downloading at 23%.”

An X user identified as Salako had berated Seyi Law for his comments on Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour (GRV), the Labour Party (LP) candidate in the 2023 Lagos state governorship election. His reaction came in support of Uncle Charles, whom Seyi Law had earlier engaged in a banter.

The comedian, on Monday, in reaction to Uncle Charles’s statement on X, said, “Your stupid father should have taught you that I am more of a stakeholder in Lagos than the son of a returned slave who decided to stay in Lagos. O da bi aye awon to bi e fe baje. I am an ILAJE of Mahin origin. Go and ask about us in Lagos before the partitioning of states. Olosi ikeji aja. Ka a da fun e.”

Seyi Law added, “It seems you and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour want to hear the history his parents kept from him.”

Salako described the Nollywood actor as a “failed comedian” in reaction to the actor’s post.

“You’re an African man using slavery to score cheap social points. You’re nothing but a lanky, wanky, mentally twisted failed comedian.”

“Angels on internship moulded you, God saw the prototype, then stepped out to the backyard to laugh.”

“Baba Suwe that stopped downloading at 23%.”

The Nollywood actor retaliated angrily, saying, “You couldn’t grow the balls to tag me, you little deluded bast*rd. Tell @GRVlagos that I said I am more Lagosian than he will ever be.”
