The Federal Government has committed to avenge the deaths of 12 miners slain by bandits in Unguwar Magro Village, Shiroro Local Government Area, Niger State. The government also stated that security authorities are tracking down the bandits and will shortly bring them to justice. Alhaji Muhammad Bawa, the abducted district chief of Gatawa in Sokoto State’s Sabon Birni Local Government Area, has reportedly been killed in captivity by bandits.  On Wednesday, a family member announced his death, alleging a failure to pay the bandits’ ransom demand. Mrs. Olabisi Ogunkanmi, Chief Magistrate of the Iyaganku Family Court in Ibadan, Oyo State, ordered the remand of Kareem Mojeed, a tenant, on Wednesday after he reportedly defiled his landlord’s seven-year-old daughter.  The court ordered that the defendant be kept at the Agodi Correctional Centre pending legal advice from the Director of Public Prosecutions. Amarachukwu Nzekwe, a 38-year-old nurse from Anambra State, was arrested by security officials after brutalising her 13-year-old nephew with a heated laundry iron.  After the incident went viral on social media, security officers collaborated with the state Ministry of Women Affairs and Social Welfare to apprehend the nurse, a native of Ezinifite in Anambra State’s Aguata Local Government Area. A pharmaceutical manufacturing factory in southern India’s Andhra Pradesh state exploded, killing at least 15 workers, according to a government official.  A fire broke out late Wednesday at the privately held Escientia Advanced Sciences’ 40-acre (16-hectare) manufacturing complex in the state’s Anakapalli district in India, prompting rescue operations. “The death toll as of now is 15 and is likely to go up.
