Alhaji Ibrahim Dende Egungbohun, an Ogun state-born businessman, has filed a defamation lawsuit against Arise Media Group (the owner of Arise Television), journalist Fisayos Soyombo, and his online platform, Foundation for Investigative Journalism (FIJ), alleging that he was labelled a smuggler and gun runner in their reports. No fewer than 26 suspected internet fraudsters, popularly called “Yahoo boys,” have been arrested by the Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) in Port Harcourt, Rivers State. This was disclosed in a statement on Monday by the Commission. According to the EFCC, they were apprehended following credible intelligence on their nefarious activities. Gunmen attacked the Orba and Eha-Alumona towns in Enugu State’s Nsukka and Udenu local government areas, killing four people, including two police officers and two Federal Road Safety Corps officials.
