Tyrese Haspil, 25, an American citizen, has been sentenced to 40 years to life in jail for the murder of his former boss, Fahim Saleh, 33, in New York City.  Fahim Saleh was the founder and CEO of the Nigerian ride-hailing company Gokada. According to People.com, Haspil, Fahim Saleh’s executive assistant, had been embezzling monies from his boss and killed him to avoid detection. Haspil was sentenced after being convicted by a New York State Supreme Court jury two months earlier. Super Falcons coach Randy Waldrum has resigned after four years in charge.  His resignation was announced in a letter dated September 12. The Waldrum cited his wife’s health concerns as the cause for his resignation from the job. “It’s been a very difficult few weeks following the Olympics, with my wife’s health issues and the worries that obviously come with that. A Georgia court on Thursday dropped three of the allegations in an indictment alleging former US President Donald Trump and co-defendants of attempting to reverse the 2020 election results in the southern state.  Two of the three charges dismissed by Fulton County Superior Court Judge Scott McAfee included Trump, who now faces eight felony counts in Georgia. China said on Friday that it will progressively raise its compulsory retirement age, according to state news agency Xinhua, as the country faces a demographic catastrophe and an ageing population.  “The statutory retirement age for male workers will be gradually extended from the original 60 years to 63 years,” a decision by Beijing officials shared by Xinhua said. Dame Diana Johnson, the UK’s Minister of State for Policing, Fire, and Crime Prevention, had her purse stolen during a police conference, the BBC reports.  The minister was reported to be speaking at the Police Superintendents’ Association conference on Tuesday about the mounting problems of antisocial behaviour, theft, and shoplifting when her handbag was stolen. According to the Mirror UK, the robbery took place at the Chesford Grange Hotel in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, which hosted the conference. Nyesom Wike, Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has strengthened his position in the Peoples Democratic Party leadership crisis after the National Working Committee approved the Rivers State congresses.
