The United Nations (UN) has added the Israeli military to a list of offenders failing to protect children, Israel’s ambassador to the UN says. Gilad Erdan, who said he had been notified of the decision on Friday, described the decision as “shameful.”. Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, has described the 2023 general elections as a disgrace, citing charges of fraud and extensive irregularities. Nigerian officials have rescued at least ten Nigerian teenage girls, aged 15 to 16, from human trafficking and prostitution.  The girls were allegedly lured to Ghana with the promise of a better life, but were ultimately coerced into prostitution. Three of the victims share the same parents. The suspect, a Nigerian male, was detained and is currently in police custody. MultiChoice Nigeria has announced that it will appeal the ruling of the Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal in Abuja on Friday.  The tribunal fined the company N150 million for not complying with its orders, which prohibited it from raising its monthly subscription until the outcome of a lawsuit Festus Onifade, an Abuja-based lawyer, brought before it was resolved. Governors under the auspices of the Nigeria Governors Forum (NGF) have rejected the proposed N60,000 minimum wage for Nigerian workers.  The governors noted in a statement issued on Friday by Halimah Ahmed, NGF’s Director of Media and Public Affairs, that the proposed minimum wage is too high and unsustainable. The NGF voiced concern that if the N60,000 minimum wage is implemented, many states may use their entire Federal Account Allocation Committee allocations for salaries, leaving no funds for development projects.
