The Director General of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC, Brigadier General Yushau Ahmed, has stated that the recent increase in corps members’ allowances has not been implemented due to the non-release of funds. Chronicle NG reports that the Federal Government had approved an increase in corps members’ monthly allowance from N33,000 to N77,000, effective from July 2024. The Rivers State Police Command verified that two distinct explosions happened across the state on Saturday.  According to reports, the first explosion occurred at the All Progressives Congress Secretariat on Aba Road, while the second struck the Obio/Akpor Local Government Secretariat just outside Port Harcourt. The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has refuted claims that he advised Christians to stop paying tithes.
