The Delta State High Court in Warri has issued an order prohibiting the Joint Admission and Matriculation Board (JAMB) from implementing its recent policy requiring a minimum admissible age of 16 years for university admissions in the country, pending the hearing and determination of the motion on notice filed against the board. JAMB said on October 16 that only candidates who will be 16 years old by August 2025 would be accepted to tertiary institutions. No fewer than 40 people are reportedly trapped under the rubble of a collapsed-story building in Sabon Lugbe, a suburban community in Abuja. According to sources, the collapse occurred in the evening on Saturday, as the victims remained under the rubble. A suicide bomber detonated at a checkpoint in western Pakistan on Saturday, killing eight and injuring five others, according to officials.  The bomber detonated the explosives from the back of a motorcycle rickshaw near the town of Mir Ali in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, a local police officer told AFP on the condition of anonymity. No fewer than 10 police officers were killed in a “terrorist attack” in an area of Southeastern Iran long plagued by unrest, local media reported on Saturday.
