Operatives of the National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) raided wine shops in Mararaba Market, New Nyanya, and Masaka regions of Nasarawa State, seizing counterfeit and contaminated wines and spirits worth over ₦41.2 million. The Nigeria Customs Service’s Area 2 Command in Onne, Rivers State, intercepted containers of unlawfully imported medicines, including counterfeit tablets worth more than N46.399 billion.  The command also announced that it had earned more than N500 billion in income so far in 2024. No fewer than three people have been killed in an accident when a Dangote truck experienced brake failure and crashed into Ayeyoro Market in Lagos State on Monday. Several communities in Calabar, the Cross River capital, are currently without power due to a windstorm that destroyed many electricity poles.  The Port Harcourt Electricity Distribution Company issued a statement on Sunday informing its Calabar customers that the interruption was caused by the windstorm. “We wish to inform our esteemed customers in Calabar that the outage currently experienced is a result of a heavy wind storm that damaged many poles in our network,“ the Disco said.
