The Office of the Accountant-General of the Federation (OAGF) says it will adhere to court orders regarding the disbursement of federal allocations to Rivers State, following recent legal battles surrounding the state’s financial entitlements. The Celestial Church of Christ, CCC, Acts of Apostle Parish, Ketu, Alapere, Lagos, has been thrown into turmoil following the church authority’s donation of N5 million.  It was gathered that the issue began last week during a Sunday service when an acclaimed son of the church founder, Muyiwa Oluponna, rushed into the church and disrupted the service in an attempt to install himself as the church’s shepherd. Five Nigerian pastors and others who live in Cameroon’s Idabato II village, formerly known as the Bakassi Peninsula, have been arrested and held by authorities there.  Their detention came after armed men kidnapped Ewane Roland, the community’s divisional officer, in early October. Eniola Alabo, the former head of the Yoruba community in the defunct Bakassi Peninsula, revealed this during an interview on Tuesday. According to local media, Roland and another council official, Etongo Ismaeil, were kidnapped on October 1, 2024, by gunmen in a flying boat along the coast. The Osun State Government on Friday announced 16-day celebrations to commemorate Governor Ademola Adeleke’s second anniversary as governor of the state.  Mr. Teslim Igbalaye, Secretary to the Osun State Government, praised Adeleke for his service delivery while unveiling the programs planned for the celebrations. According to Igbalaye, events planned for the celebrations include a health walk, novelty match, Jumaat, church service, state awards presentation, and project commissioning. Irish mixed martial arts fighter Conor McGregor has been found guilty of rape. A jury found that McGregor raped Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018. He was ordered to pay her more than €248,000 (£206,000) in damages. A militant group, the Niger Delta Liberation Movement, also known as Movement, claimed responsibility for bursting pipelines near the Olero-Dibi-Abiteye Fields/Flow stations around 2am on Friday.  The damage was described as “the launch of ‘Operation Chevron Dragnet” in a press statement signed by the militant group Secretary Mr. Emmanuel Tagbanaraewumi and made available to journalists in Warri on Friday. The International Criminal Court (ICC) has issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, his sacked defence minister Yoav Gallant, and Hamas commander Mohammed Deif, whom Israel claims was killed in July.  Judges found “reasonable grounds” to believe the three men were responsible for crimes committed during Israel’s war with Hamas. The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) says Nigerians will have to pay for the new multipurpose national identity card due to limited government revenue. Dr. Peter Iwegbu, Head of Card Management Services at NIMC, stated this during a two-day roundtable for journalists in Lagos. He stated on Friday that the payment was to ensure that it was only created for those who required it. Iwegbu stated that the choice was made to prevent repeating the mistake of previous attempts to provide actual cards to Nigerians for free, which many did not collect. Italy, the Netherlands, Canada, and other nations have indicated plans to comply with the International Criminal Court’s arrest orders for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defence Minister Yoav Gallant.  The ICC issued the warrants on Thursday, accusing both men of war crimes and crimes against humanity during the current conflict in Gaza. The charges brought before the court include allegations of starvation, murder, persecution, and other inhumane crimes. The Lagos State Government has announced a traffic diversion for the inaugural 10-kilometre Capital City Race on Saturday, 23 November.  The race will take place between 5am and 11am, according to a statement signed by the ministry’s Deputy Director, Public Affairs, Bolanle Ogunlola, on Friday in Lagos.
