US President Donald Trump has stopped the financial support for HIV treatment in Nigeria and other developing countries.  The decision orders the US State Department to stop disbursing funds from the President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) for a three-month period. The exceptions to this new order are emergency humanitarian assistance and military financing for Israel and Egypt. Operatives of the Nigeria Police Force have busted a syndicate involved in selling and servicing motorcycles to Boko Haram terrorists in Niger and Kaduna states. The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 7, Benneth Igweh, revealed this during a press briefing at the Zone’s headquarters in Abuja on Tuesday. Igweh revealed that acting on credible intelligence, detectives apprehended three suspects in Suleja Local Government Area, Niger State. President Bola Tinubu has returned to the country after attending the Africa Heads of State Energy Summit in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has warned against any attempt to establish a Sharia Court in the state. The state government, in a statement signed by Abiodun, on Tuesday, noted that sharia courts cannot be legally constituted by individuals or groups without legal backing. Abiodun stated this while reacting to a notice announcing the launch of a sharia court in the state. The Niger State Police Command has begun a manhunt for the owner of the dynamite that exploded in Sabon Pegi, Mashegu Local Government Area, killing one person and injuring six others. The explosion happened on Sunday in a residential area where a man identified as Yushau allegedly stored the explosives for mining activities. The explosion destroyed about 40 residential buildings and caused significant damage to property. Self-acclaimed gospel singer Timileyi Ajayi has pleaded not guilty to the murder of Salome Adaidu, a corp member of the National Youth Service Corps, NYSC.
