Four registered voters were present at Polling Unit 002, Ward C, located at 21 Agidi Road, within the Agboyi-Ketu Local Council Development Area, according to LASIEC officials,…

The unemployment rate in Canada reduced slightly to 6.9 percent in June, mainly due to strong hiring in wholesale and retail, manufacturing, and health care, according to the government on Friday. Statistics Canada reported that the economy created 83,100 jobs last month, marking the first net rise since January. However, most of the job growth was in part-time work, the agency said. The increase in employment contrasts with a recent decreasing trend. The wholesale and retail industry accounted for 34,000 new jobs, followed by health care and social support (17,000). These are the final job data before Canada’s central bank…

Presidential candidates from the African Democratic Congress (ADC) coalition will sign an agreement to support whoever is chosen as the party’s presidential candidate. The contenders have reached an agreement in principle, but they must also define what constitutes a transparent primary election. This was revealed by Rotimi Amaechi, the former minister of transport and a senior coalition party member. Senator David Mark, the party’s temporary national chairman, announced on July 8 that the party had no favourite candidate and pledged that under his leadership, the party would be “absolutely transparent.” Mark made the clarification following posturing by top members of…
