No fewer than 14 villagers and a mobile police officer were killed on Thursday in two separate attacks carried out by terrorists in the Bokkos Local Government Area of Plateau State. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control, NAFDAC, on Wednesday in Kano, uncovered and sealed a warehouse stocked with 88,560 litres of controlled chemicals, including sulphuric and nitric acid, used for explosives in Kano. Prof. Mojisola Adeyeye, Director-General of the Agency, made the announcement while briefing reporters at the facility in Kwakwachi, Fagge Local Government Area of the state. Adebayo Pelumi, a correctional officer who was declared wanted for the murder of a photojournalist, Ayo Aiyepekun, in Lokoja, Kogi State, reportedly committed suicide. Pelumi, who worked for the Nigeria Correctional Service, was claimed to have checked into a hotel on Wednesday afternoon and was discovered dead in the room at 1 p.m. on Thursday.
