A fire in the early hours of Monday gutted the popular Sopurum Hotel, located in the Nkwelle community, Onitsha, Anambra State. Dr. Agbu Kefas, the Governor of Taraba State, announced a 24-hour curfew on Karim town and its surroundings in the state’s Karim Lamido Local Government Area on Sunday. The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) announced on Sunday that it would revoke the result of Ejikeme Mmesoma and prosecute her for fraudulently inflating her score and presenting herself as the highest scorer for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination. No fewer than six people have reportedly lost their lives in a fire outbreak at a nightclub.  According to San Sok Seiha, Phnom Penh Municipal Police spokesman, four men and two women died in the inferno, which broke out in the early evening at an undisclosed nightclub in Cambodia. “We don’t know yet if there will be more victims,” Sok Seiha said.
