A resident has reportedly been killed by suspected kidnappers who also abducted three persons, including two traditional rulers in Balma village, Ningi Local Government Area of Bauchi State on Saturday, June 10, 2023. According to a villager, the village Head, Mai Anguwan Bakutunbe, and one other person were kidnapped in two different operations. Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and leading human rights attorney Femi Falana has requested that the Department of State Services (DSS) hand over suspended Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor Godwin Emefiele to the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for a thorough investigation. The Bauchi State Government on Saturday established plans to vaccinate girls against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a common cause of genital warts and cancers.  It intends to target girls aged nine to fourteen, as HPV is the most common sexually transmitted infection.
