A Sri Lankan man named Sudharsan Ithayachandran has reportedly died after he was deported to his home country from the UK.  The 41-year-old, who admitted to using false documents and working illegally at a British multinational supermarket called Tesco, was deported from the UK on December 24, 2019, leaving behind his deaf wife, Subatra, and two children, ages eight and nine. The UK Guardian reported on Monday that all three are British nationals. However, the date of his deportation coincided with his wedding anniversary. A Kano State High Court presided over by Justice Amina Adamu Aliyu has ordered the police to evict Kano’s deposed Emir, Alhaji Aminu Ado Bayero, from the palace he is occupying on State Road in the Nasarawa area of the state.  The court, which issued the order on Monday, also granted an interim injunction preventing Bayero and four other dethroned emirs from acting as emirs until a move on notice submitted by applicants is heard and determined. The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) began the continuous voter registration exercise in Edo State on Monday.  The exercise is intended to capture potential voters who have yet to register ahead of Edo’s governorship election on September 21. Rivers State Police Command officers have arrested 13 people, including four soldiers, for allegedly committing armed robberies, hijacking food trucks, and diverting them to other locations.  The police also apprehended a member of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps. The Lagos State Police Command has revealed that two people were injured and several others apprehended following an attack by okada riders on its Ipaja Division on Monday.  Chronicle NG reported earlier that panic broke out in the Ipaja area of Lagos State after more than 100 hoodlums assaulted the Ipaja Police Station.
