The medical examination of the 17-year-old girl who was allegedly raped by a police officer at the district H Command in the state’s Ogudu district has ended. Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara has denied proposing a N80,000 minimum salary for state and local government workers.  The rejection came after allegations circulated online that the governor had committed to paying the stated amount. The Nigeria Customs Service’s Zone A Federal Operations Unit in Ikeja, Lagos, stated on Thursday that it had apprehended 150 cartons of bulletproof jackets valued at N1.687 billion. Kola Oladeji, the Customs Area Controller in charge of the unit, told journalists in Ikeja that the contraband was caught on the Ijebuode-Sagamu Motorway in Ogun State. Oladeji added that each carton contained ten packs of the jacket and that the contraband was seized in June. The University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) was struck by tragedy when some unidentified students and a shuttle driver were involved in a tragic auto crash outside the school’s main gate, resulting in the death of a student.  Chronicle NG gathered that it was a single collision involving people on the campus shuttle on Thursday.
