Akwa Ibom: Father beats his 16 year old to death  

The police in Akwa Ibom have arrested a man, Akaninyene Sunday Okokon, for allegedly killing his 16-year-old daughter, Abasiono, for using his sim card to call her boyfriend. Okokon along with 195 others were paraded at the command’s headquarters, in Uyo on Friday. Commissioner of Police said the suspect was arrested by operatives of Ikot Ebo Divisional Headquarters. Mohammed encourage the use of arms against bandits

Bauchi State Governor Bala Mohammed yesterday charged residents of the state to “take up arms and defend” themselves against bandits. “You are known to be warriors.
