Renewed gunmen attacks in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State on Friday have claimed about 18 lives. The gunmen attacked the Tilengpan community in Mangu Local Government area of the state, killing 12 people, with an additional six persons murdered in four Bokkos communities, along with a university student, last night. The chairman of Mangu local government area, Monday Kassam, confirmed the incident, saying the gunmen launched deadly attacks on four communities. The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has failed to secure a conviction against the former Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF), Mohammed Bello Adoke, for money laundering in court. Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court, Abuja, upheld Adoke’s “no case” submission against the money laundering charges against him. The court discharged and acquitted the former AGF of money laundering charges. Following the security trends in Nigeria, the Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, has tested the electronic gates (e-gates) mounted at the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja, to enhance national security through the airports. Tunji-Ojo stated during his facility inspection on Friday that the installation is 99 percent complete and that the e-gates will be operational by next week.
