The Federal High Court sitting in Lagos on Monday has declared null and void the sale of a national carrier-Nigeria Air Ltd to Ethiopian Airlines. Justice Ambrose Lewis-Allagoa in his judgement stopping the sale, ordered that the proposed establishment of a national carrier, by the Federal Government, should not be carried out. The judge made the order while granting the reliefs sought by the plaintiffs, the Registered Trustees of the Airline Operators of Nigeria and five others in the aviation industry. The Federal Government of Nigeria has issued a warning and travel alert to its citizens planning to visit the United Kingdom (UK). Nigeria’s total debt stock has been projected to increase to N130 trillion by December this year from N121.67 trillion in the first quarter of 2024. Afrinvest disclosed this in its recent report, titled, ‘Bank Recapitalisation, Catalyst for a $1trillion Economy’. Gunmen on Saturday, killed seven persons at Umucheke Okwe community, in Onuimo Local Government Area of Imo State. Chronicle NG gathered that the gunmen opened fire, leading to the killing of the President General of the community, including six village leaders.
