The Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, has expressed assurance that the governorship election in Ondo State would be free of violence, as the officers would be on the ground to avert a breakdown of law and order. Equatorial Guinea’s government has sacked Baltazar Engonga as Director General of the National Financial Investigation Agency (ANIF) after a series of sex tapes involving him and multiple women surfaced online. The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) said the collapse of the national grid on Thursday morning was caused by a sudden rise in frequency from 50.33Hz to 51.44Hz. The TCN General Manager, Public Affairs, Ndidi Mbah, disclosed this in a statement on Thursday. “The Transmission Company of Nigeria wishes to inform the public that the national grid experienced a disturbance at approximately 11:29 a.m. this morning, caused by a sudden rise in frequency from 50.33Hz to 51.44Hz,” Mbah said. The Malaysian government has announced plans to phase out the use of compressed natural gas (CNG) for vehicles and end the sale of natural gas vehicles (NGV) in the country. Loke Siew Fook, minister of transport, spoke at a press conference recently, according to Free Malaysia Today (FMT), a local media organisation. Fook said CNG-powered vehicles can no longer be registered or be used in Malaysia from July 1, 2025.
