The Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) has extended filing of Companies Income Tax Returns for the 2022 Year of Assessment from June 30 to August 31 to enable companies fill out their tax returns. US police have arrested a suspect after six people were killed in a mass shooting at an Independence Day parade in Highland Park, Illinois. Robert E Crimo III, 22, was detained after a brief chase, police said. The gunman climbed on to a roof, shooting randomly at spectators using a high-powered rifle. More than a dozen protesters were arrested for driving too slowly during demonstrations on motorways in England, Wales and Scotland over fuel prices. The go-slow action mainly targeted three-lane motorways with convoys of vehicles crawling along two lanes – leaving the “fast” outside lane free. Five people have been shot dead at a 4 July Independence Day parade near the US city of Chicago, city officials say. The event in Highland Park, a Chicago suburb, was suddenly halted about 10 minutes after it began, when several shots were heard. The Federal Capital Territory Vehicle Inspection Office (FCT VIO) says its arrest of motorists over faded vehicle number plates is not to extort them but ensure compliance with traffic rules. The FCT VIO Spokesperson, Mr Kalu Emetu, made the clarification following complaints by motorists over the issue. Some of the motorists said they were made to pay heavy fine of up to N20,000 and directed to procure a new number plate for no fault of theirs.
