Manchester City forward Raheem Sterling has agreed personal terms with Chelsea. The 27-year-old has one year left on his contract at City and had attracted interest from major clubs overseas. City signed Sterling from Liverpool in a £49m deal in 2015 and he went on to score 131 goals in 339 games. The Federal Government is set to generate about N720 billion in the third quarter of 2022 from FGN bonds. This is according to “FGN Bond Issuance Calendar For Third Quarter, 2022” as released by the Debt Management Office (DMO). The calendar shows that the DMO will re-open nine previously issued FGN Bonds between July and September. According to the calendar, on July 18, the DMO will re-open a 13 per cent, March 2025 FGN Bond valued at between N70 billion to N80 billion. Over 400 prisoners are missing following an attack by gunmen on Kuje Correctional Center in Nigeria’s capital Abuja, officials say. Four inmates, a security guard and several attackers were killed after the prison was targeted on Tuesday night, according to officials. Islamist militant group Boko Haram is suspected of carrying out the attack, and dozens of its members are on the run, the defence minister said. Over 5,000 inmates have escaped in jailbreaks in Nigeria since 2020. A Federal High Court, Abuja, on Wednesday, ordered the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) to supply the Attorney-General of the Federation (AGF) with the certified true copy (CTC) of biodata information of David Ukpo for onward transmission to the UK. Justice Inyang Ekwo gave the order following an omnibus application made by Muazu Mohammed, counsel for NIMC, to the effect. The Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika says Nigeria will have a national carrier before the end of 2022. Sirika revealed the plans about the national carrier at a two-day Africa Public Private Partnership Network (AP3N) Investment programme held in Abuja on Tuesday. Nigeria first mooted the idea of setting up a new national carrier in 2017 but it was suspended following a Federal Executive Council meeting, where it was agreed that it was not a priority. Security has been tightened in most parts of Kuje communities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), following sporadic gunshots and bomb blast reportedly heard at the Kuje Correctional Centre on Tuesday night.
