The Abuja-Lokoja highway on Friday got blocked for motorists as two articulated vehicles broke down adjacent to each other after flooding in the area. The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has directed motorists to avoid the road for alternative routes not to get into the built up gridlock around Koton-Karfe, Kogi Local Government Area. At least 27 Dangote Cement Plc workers were shot at when armed thugs suspected to be acting on the orders of Kogi state government invaded its Obajana cement plant. New York City Mayor Eric Adams has declared a state of emergency to address a “crisis situation” over an influx of migrants. More than 17,000 have arrived in the city from the southern border since April. Republican states like Texas and Florida have been sending migrants to Democratic areas in recent months. An Ikeja Chief Magistrates Court on Friday ordered that a 45- year-old security guard, Oluwasegun Akintayo be remanded in Kirikiri Correctional centre for allegedly defiling his girlfriend’s six-year daughter. The Chief Magistrate, Mrs B. O Osunsanmi refused to take the plea of Akintayo.
