The Senate on Wednesday passed the N65,905,252,467 budget of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPFTF) for the year 2022. The amount is made up of personnel expenditure of N948,810,609.29, total overhead costs; N8,857,106,527.44, and total capital expenditure of N56,099,335,330.35. The Senate passed the Police Trust Fund budget after it considered and adopted the harmonised report of its Committee on Police Affairs and that of the House of Representatives. Youths of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in South East and South South regions who left Yenagoa en route Lagos to drum support for the party’s presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, on Monday arrived Ogun. The management of Dangote Industries Limited (DIL) says it owns Obajana Cement plant 100 percent and its acquisition in 2002 followed due process. The company said this in a statement issued by Anthony Chiejina, group head, branding and communications, DIL, titled, ‘Obajana Cement Plant: Separating Facts from Fiction.’ Chronicle NG reports that the statement was in response to one issued by the Kogi State Government challenging Dangote to show proof of ownership of the plant. The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) has said that measures have been put at various ports of entry into the country to prevent contaminated cough syrups. NAFDAC Director-General, Prof Mojisola Adeyeye, disclosed this on Tuesday in Abuja at a news conference. NAN reports that the agency had on Sunday, issued an alert with No. 040/2022 about some contaminated cough syrups circulating in the Gambia. The Kogi State Government has advised Dangote Group to provide proof of ownership in the ongoing tussle over Obajana Cement Plant in the state. The state government gave the advice in a statement signed by Kingsley Fanwo, the state’s Commissioner for Information and Communications on Monday.
