Cross River labour threatens strike over minimum wage

The Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress have suspended ongoing nationwide strike on Wednesday night. According to the unions, the suspension was prompted by the participation of Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Adviser. Sanwo-Olu The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service has declared that it will use third-party agents to collect unpaid taxes from defaulting taxpayers, including banks, employers, debtors, tenants, and business partners.

The Court of Appeal sitting in Lagos has dismissed the actions filed by Abdulazeez Adediran, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, against the election of Babajide Sanwo-Olu. Sanwo-Olu was proclaimed the winner of the Lagos gubernatorial race by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in March. Sanwo-Olu received 762,134 votes, defeating Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party (LP), who received 312,329 votes.
