The Ekiti Police Command says it has commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the alleged killing of a farmer by a deaf and dumb person on the deceased’s farm. The incident occurred at Ipole Farm Settlement, Agbado Ekiti, in Ayekire Local Council Development Area on Tuesday evening. A truck conveying hundreds of people in Niger State, Nigeria has killed at least 17 persons and has left 208 people injured, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) said in a statement on Wednesday. The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) shared N906.955 billion to the three tiers of government as federation allocation for October. This is according to a communiqué issued on Wednesday after the FAAC retreat and meeting in Asaba, Delta State. The communiqué indicated that the N906.955 billion total distributable revenue comprised distributable statutory revenue of N305.070 billion, distributable value-added tax (VAT) revenue of N323.446 billion and electronic money transfer levy (EMTL) revenue of N15.552 billion. The Nigeria Railway Corporation (NRC) says it has sacked and demoted several staff found to have been involved in ticket racketeering. The National Bureau of Statistics has said the average price of 5kg of cooking gas increased from N4,189.96 recorded in September to N4,562.51 in October. This is contained in the Bureau’s “Cooking Gas Price Watch’’ for October 2023, released on Wednesday in Abuja. The House of Representatives passed the 2024-2026 medium-term expenditure framework on Tuesday, a set of assumptions that will be used to prepare the country’s budget over the next three years. Nyesome Wike has claimed that he has saved N110 billion since he was confirmed as the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) on August 7, 2023. Wike made the declaration when he announced on Tuesday that the cost of obtaining a Certificate of Occupancy (C of O) is N5 million.
