NDLEA nabs Canada-based nurse, two businessmen for drug trafficking

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has inaugurated special squads to curb open sales and consumption of illicit drugs in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. Kabiru Tsakuwa, commander of narcotics (CN), NDLEA, FCT command, said this in an interview with journalists on Monday in Abuja. Tsakuwa said the approach would be through the dislodgement of notorious drug joints, the arrest of drug dealers, the seizure of drugs and the prosecution of offenders. Lagos taskforce enforces clamp down on illegal livestock markets

The Lagos State Taskforce has launched a crackdown on indiscriminate and illegal display and sale of livestock by roadside, inner streets and any other unapproved locations which goes against the environment laws of the state. The spokesperson to the taskforce Gbadeyan Abdulraheem disclosed this in a statement seen by Chronicle NG. JED unveils debt repayment plan for electricity customers

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) has urged the Nigerian government to remove what it called implicit fuel and electricity subsidies. The IMF in a report it published recently told Nigeria that the subsidies would guzzle three per cent of the nation’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) in 2024 as against one per cent in the year before. Navy deactivates 71 illegal refineries, recovers 411,000 litres of stolen crude

Operatives of the Joint Task Force (JTF) codenamed Operation Delta Safe has uncovered over 50 illegal crude oil refining sites in the Biseni area of Yenagoa Local Government Area of Bayelsa State. JTF Commander, John Okeke, who led the operation on Sunday, said illegal refining of stolen crude oil was taking place in each of the sites.
