The Kano State Government says it has employed 5,000 teachers in the state civil service to revitalise the education sector. The police command in Katsina says it has succeeded in thwarting a kidnap attempt, killed three suspected bandits, and rescued all the kidnapped victims. The Israeli military said its troops had rescued on Saturday four Israeli hostages alive from Gaza after a “complex daytime operation”. The army named the rescued hostages as Noa Argamani, 26, Almog Meir Jan, 22, Andrey Kozlov, 27, and Shlomi Ziv, 41.
