The Senate has approved the restoration of Abraka State Constituency in Ethiope East Local Government Area from the present Ethiope East State Constituency, in line with the orders of the Federal High Court. The Lagos Office of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has secured the conviction and sentencing of five illegal oil thieves to one year imprisonment each before Justice Rilwan Aikawa of the Federal High Court sitting in Ikoyi, Lagos The convicts, who are all Indian nationals, are: Visal Guleria, Pranjal Singh, Rahul Pathania , Akash Kumar and Sahil Sharma. Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Lagos Zonal Office, have arrested one Williams Michael Ogwezi, also known as Dr. Williams, for parading himself as a staff of the Commission to defraud his unsuspecting victims. A 22 year-old HND 1 Student of the Federal Polytechnic, Offa, Kwara State, Oladipo Opeyemi Juwon was on Thursday, December 10, 2020 sentenced to nine months imprisonment by Justice Mahmood Abdulgafar of the Kwara State High Court sitting in Ilorin over his involvement in internet scam. Faisal Maina, son of the former Chairman of the defunct Pension Reform Taskforce Team, Abdulrasheed Maina, who was declared wanted by the Federal High Court in Abuja, has been arrested.
