The 42-year-old took a test after developing symptoms and will now isolate for seven days, the Elysée Palace said in a statement. President Muhammadu Buhari has ordered the reopening of four major land border crossing points immediately, over a year after closing its land frontiers to crack down on smuggling, the government said on Wednesday. Nigeria closed its land borders last year to curb smuggling of rice and arms, which it says threatens efforts to boost local production and security, and to generate state revenues through import duties. The Federal Government has approved 173 centres and 30 state government institutions for the enrolment of the National Identity Number (NIN) across Nigeria. The National Identity Management Commission (NIMC) disclosed the enrolment centres in a public notice on the website titled, ‘Approved Data Capturing Agents (Digital Identity Ecosystem)’ on Wednesday. The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) announced 930 confirmed new coronavirus cases in the country on Wednesday. The 930 cases announced by the Centre for Disease Control takes the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases to 75,062.
