No fewer than 119 Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS) nationals have been arrested, for entering Ghana through unapproved routes. It was gathered that 116 males and three females, comprising 67 Nigerians, 35 Nigeriens, nine Togolese, four Beninese, three Ivoirians and a Ghanaian were apprehended. They intended to go to Ghana’s capital, Accra, and neighbouring Ivory Coast to visit friends and relatives. There have been more than 3.5 million confirmed cases of coronavirus in the UK and more than 100,000 people have died, government figures show. However, these figures include only people who have died within 28 days of testing positive for coronavirus. Almost seven million people have had their first dose of a coronavirus vaccine.
