Katsina state government has approved the deployment of dogs to complement security efforts to secure boarding schools in the State. The Commissioner for Education, Dr Badamasi Charanchi, told The Nation that the decision was to complement efforts of security personnel attached to each boarding school. The Federal Government and the World Health Organisation (WHO) have disclosed that since the covid-19 vaccination with AstraZeneca vaccine began on March 15, 2021, there has been no record of deaths and blood clotting. The government however stated that a total of 8,439 mild adverse events following immunisation (AEFI) have been reported such as pain, swelling at the site of the inoculation, body pains and nausea. The Federal Government on Friday flagged-off commercial freight services on Warri-Itakpe standard gauge rail line. The service is expected to make movement of high volumes of containerised cargoes like steel, agricultural produce, oil and other goods easy.
