Armed bandits have abducted a former National Broadcasting Commission (NBC) director, Alhaji Ahmed Abdulkadir, and his 15-year-old daughter, Laila in Katsina state. The latest attack comes barely 24 hours after the abduction of the wife and children of a Katsina lawmaker. Reports say that the assailants invaded the residence of the retired NBC director in Bakori Housing Units, around 9pm on Monday, kidnapping him and his teenage daughter. Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State, has said that the perpetrators of banditry, killings and kidnappings in the northwestern state, are majorly Fulani herdsmen. The Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) has secured medicare for Nigerian lawyers after it signed a deal with the National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS). Detailing the Memorandum of Understanding signed with the NHIS, NBA President, Olumide Akpata, explained that lawyers across the 125 branches of the NBA can benefit from the deal.
