The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, on Monday 27th September, 2021 secured the conviction of one Kehinde Aliyu Odeniyi before Justice Kabir Dabo of the Kaduna State High Court sitting in Zaria on a two count charge bordering on criminal misappropriation. Dr. Chike Akunyili, husband to the late former DG of NAFDAC, Prof Dora Akunyili, has been killed by unidentified gunmen in Anambra state. It was gathered that Dr Chike was waylaid and murdered at Umuoji in Idemili North LGA of Anambra State on Tuesday evening. Justice Daniel Osiagor of a Lagos Federal High Court, today, ordered First Bank Plc and Federal Inland Revenue Services (FIRS) to pay a total sum of N2,520,000 to a lawyer and activist, Johnson Odion Esezoobo, whose law firm’s account was unlawfully frozen over false tax default of N54 million. A group of unidentified armed men reportedly stormed the palace of the Emir of Kagara in Rafi Local Government Council of Niger State. It was gathered that bandits, who were about 60 in number invaded the Emir’s palace around 6pm on Tuesday evening.
