Court, Housewife and son beat in-law to death over meat

The Police on Thursday arraigned a 23-year-old man, Samuel Aondofa, for allegedly disguising as a woman so as to gain sexual advances from men. Aondofa, popularly known as “Deborah”, appeared before a Makurdi Chief Magistrate’s court charged with criminal deception. The police prosecutor, Mr Omaye Ujata, one Vivian Enger, a resident of International Market area, Makurdi, reported the case at the “E” Division police station. Human rights lawyer, Mr. Femi Falana (SAN), has asked Governor Akinwunmi Ambode of Lagos State to commute the death penalty passed on death row inmates in the state to life imprisonment instead of executing them. The Attorney-General of the state, Mr. Adeniji Kazeem, had at a press conference on Tuesday, said that unlike previous administrations, Governor Ambode would sign the necessary documents to execute those on death row in the state. Suspended Supreme Court judge, Justice Sylvester Ngwuta was on Thursday arraigned at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) Abuja, on an amended 8-count charge of false assets declaration. Ngwuta, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges instituted by the Office of the Attorney-General of the Federation.
