Justice Mojisola Olatoregun of a Federal High Court, Lagos, on Wednesday granted a fresh ex-parte application ordering the forfeiture of 5.8 million dollars belonging to a former First Lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan. The verdict comes after the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Tuesday withdrew a motion before a Federal High Court Lagos for stay of execution of a judgment which unfroze the account of a former first lady, Patience Jonathan. Prices of donkeys have shot up by over 200 per cent in Birniwa, Jigawa amid growing demand for the animals, NAN reports. Adebayo Shittu, on Tuesday signed the renewal of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Alliance for Affordable Internet (A4AI), to ensure affordable internet in Nigeria. A Minna High Court on Tuesday ordered the remand in prison custody of former governor of Niger state, Babangida Aliyu, who styled himself the Chief servant, while in office. NDLEA intercepts drugs hidden in snails, others meant for UK, US, DRC

The National Drugs Law Enforcement Agency, NDLEA, on Tuesday arrested two suspected drug traffickers who posed as police officers in Nasarawa area of Kano state. 253 Nigerians, who have been stranded in Libya were Tuesday deported back to Nigeria aboard an Airbus A333-200 with registration number 5A LAT. The 253 returnees who were conveyed on the Libyan Airline plane comprised of 140 adult females and 8 children. Also aboard were 103 adult male and 3 male children.
