The United States ambassador to Ghana, Robert Jackson said about 7,000 Ghanaian immigrants in the country face deportation for visa-related offences including staying illegally, over staying their permits. Access Bank on Thursday announced impressive performance in all performance indicators as shown by its unaudited result for the first quarter which ended on March 31, 2017. The bank posted profit after tax of N26 billion during the period compared with N19.4 billion achieved in the same period in 2016, an increase of 34 per cent. The Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA) says it will bestow posthumous award on the dog that voided mass killing by a female suicide bomber in Borno. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) says a total of 21, 651 permanent voters cards (PVCs) in Akwa Ibom are still not collected after the last registration exercise preceding 2015 elections. The state INEC Administrative Secretary, Mr Nathan Owhor, disclosed this on Thursday in Uyo at a stakeholders’ meeting marking the official flag-off of the 2017 continuous voter registration (CVR) exercise. The Sokoto state government has received 1.8 million vaccine doses of type “C” strain of Meningitis from the Federal government. Gov. Aminu Tambuwal made this known at Dange town, headquarters of Dange/Shuni Local Government Area of the state when he launched the mass vaccination of two million people against Cerebro Spinal Meningitis (CSM). The House of Representatives has urged the Presidency to seek interpretation of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) Act before a court, following the Senate’s rejection of Mr Ibrahim Magu as Chairman.
